My trip around the world started in Fiji. Well actually, it was supposed to start in Fiji, but I ended up spending my first night in Los Angeles. I arrived at the counter to have my boarding pass printed for my Fiji connection at 8:45 p.m., 45 minutes before my flight left, and they said they had closed the counter at 8:30 p.m. (!?!?!?!?!). They wouldn’t print my boarding pass. I would like to say that I handled the situation like a champ, but no, I freaked out. I did eventually pull myself together. I ended up flying out to Fiji via Seoul, Korea the next day. (Korean Air is awesome, by the way. They give you slippers! And rice for breakfast!) By the time I got to Nadi, Fiji, I could barely see straight. I did not sleep on the planes, since I cannot seem to master the art of sleeping sitting up. And planes are scary.
Anyway, I had decided to book a short tour of the main island, Viti Levu, so that I could get as much done as possible in a short amount of time. It was amazing! I got to do some of my all-time favourite activities: sandboarding, relaxing on a beach chair / in a hammock, trekking to a waterfall, jumping off the waterfall, getting covered in mud, and chilling in a hot pool.
We also visited a school and a village. It was incredibly neat. I loved all the resorts we stayed at. It is the off season now, so every place we went to was peaceful and practically empty.
After my tour ended, I went to Suva and met up with Rose! We visited the forest park near Suva and swung into waterfall pools. It was a tad (actually, very!) rainy, but I loved it!
Some highlights:

This country is really wonderful. It was a great place start to my trip š
So, the Germans call it “Fidschi” ? Any way you say it, that country looks truly beautiful.
